I don't mind being asked. I actually don't find it rude at all. If someone is curious about the up front investment I'm glad to help them get the info. I do make sure to tell them that price varies, and tell them about how they should go to a responsible breeder. And the various other costs that come with owning a pet, especially a yorkie.

I just don't mind at all when people ask. I don't mind informing people. Most people that have asked me, just wanted to know so they could know a general price of the dog, so they knew what a fair price was in our area. I think it is a fair question --- as long as they aren't asking as a status thing (we didn't pay more than $500 for either of ours though, so they aren't getting much status from us when they ask anyways I guess haha)
