Yorkies and other toy breeds can have a serious and even deadly reaction to the lepto vaccine. As you found out, they can have several shots safely before they have a reaction as it takes repeated exposure to develop the antibodies that cause the reaction.
Only the rabies vaccine is required by law. All the other vaccinations are up to you. I would refuse lepto in the future since she had such a serious reaction. Next time it could kill her. |
