This is right on the money!!!! I've house trained many puppies in my time and this has always worked best. If you can actually catch them in the act and give a quick no, then carry them outside, once placing them on the ground, give praise. It reinforces that outside is the right place to go.
If you do the old take them to it and say no, it only makes them scarred of you IMO.
