Wow - she's only 15 weeks old and he thinks that she should know better? That's not very fair to her at all! Give her a chance to learn the ropes. She's still a baby!
I hope that you plan on teaching your fiancee that dogs should never think of hands as being hurtful. There are much better methods to use while training your Yorkie. I also agree with what others have said. Whatever is laying on the floor is fair game for a puppy, just like it would be for a human baby. It is you and your fiancee's responsibility to be sure that all of these things are picked up. Please don't punish her for being a curious and playful puppy.
P.S. I'm saying this in the nicest possible way but...I can understand why some people are suggesting ditching the fiancee. I've known my husband for going on 20 yrs now..if he EVER laid a hand on my dog or our 3 kids (even gently), his butt would be out the door so fast. Ask him! He knows it and agrees. I hope you guys can work this out.
