Question Enticing to eat?

Sasha has always been a very picky eater. I know some members on here won't agree with this, but I only feed her once a day in the evening. I used to free feed her and leave her food out at all times, but she would never even take 1 kibble all morning/afternoon. Sometimes she wouldn't even start eating until almost 9pm! Anyways, I put a 1/2 cup down around 5pm. Lately I've been mixing in a little cottage cheese and some shredded up carrots just to entice her to eat a little bit. It worked for awhile. As soon as I'd set her bowl down, she'd gobble it all up. Lately, it seems like she'll eat up all the cottage cheese/carrots and maybe about half of the kibbles and then leave the rest. She'll eventually go back and finish the rest of her kibbles, but not always. Is there anything that I could mix in with her kibbles to entice her to want to eat? I would really prefer to give her a meal in the morning as well, but she just refuses to eat in morning. I've never tried canned food at all and have never personally been a fan of it since I've heard that it can give some dogs diarrhea, but I do know that this isn't the case for all dogs. I just want to know that she's getting the right amount of food and enough nutrition.

I also purchased a healthy dog cookbook that has quite a few decent recipes in there. I was considering making a weeks worth of a recipe and then mixing in a small amount each day just to keep her interested in her food, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. She's 1yr 5mos and about 7.8lbs. Am I even feeding her the correct amount of food? (i.e. too much/too little?) She's currently on Natural Balance Sweet Potato & Fish. I've recently begun rotating flavors between bags to keep her interested. I also know that may not be the best idea, but she used to be on Solid Gold and would go months being fine with it, but she eventually got sick of it so I think the rotating flavors would be good for her.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.
