Barley & Mischa loves Evo and it comes in small bites. I got them Innova recently. It's small breed comes in very small bite sized pieces. I thought they'd like it better, but Barley doesn't. He'll eat it, but not as happily as he ate the Evo. Mischa is just a piggy so she's happy for anything.
I like these two brands because they have all natural ingredients in them.
Things you want to stay away from are:
By-products, meal (like meat or bone meal);filers (corn gluten meal, wheat gluten, egg product meal); carb overload (refined flours, wheat, brewer's rice)
rocessed fruits and vegetables (dehydrated potatoes, tomato pumice, alfalfa meal); animal fat, poultry fat, vegtable oil; synthetic preservatives (BHA, BHT, ethoxyquin), coloring (caramel color, FD&C colors).
Things to look for:
Named meat or fish; concentrated named meat proteins (like chicken meal, lamb meal, etc); whole grains and starches (brown rice, barley, sweet potatoes); fruits and vegetables (potatoes, tomatoes, apples, etc); Quality named fats (chicken fat, lamb fat sunflower oil, etc); Natural preservatives (vitamin E, mixed tocopherols), Antioxidants (Vitamin A, C and E) & Chelated minerals (manganese proteinate, iron proteinate).
I searched the ingredient listings of a lot of dog foods until I found Evo and Innova. Good luck.
