If you want to see the true eye shine in your dog, don't use a flash on them, instead, look at them in the eyes with natural light behind them. Then you will see the true color of the eye shine
Different flashes will produce different results.
I think eye shine goes more to depth of color of the coat then to whether it is silk or cottony. JMO
