Thanks so much for your replies. It is 9.07pm in the evening here. My vet does not do after hours consultations, but he gives you the phone number of a practice that does all his out of hours consultations! Unfortunately they charge the most outrageous prices and so is only for life threatening situations. As you say it is hard to tell sometimes what is a life threatening situation with these little ones. I have examined the foot and could not see anything in her paw. I will try the ice pack, Cindy, and see if she will let me put her paw on it. I have a feeling that she won't though, but I am going to try. What is worrying me is how quickly she has got worse. Should I try the aspirin?
