1. I am an only child
2. The hospital I was born in caught fire the night my mother gave birth to me.
3. I was shot point blank at 3 months old by an immediate family member, and pronounced dead at the scene,..now I'm not so dead anymore.
4. I was an insomniac for my junior and senior years in high school, sleeping at most 4 hours a night due to AP classes, academic team, science fairs, a short internshipish program with NASA, and writing a novel for my senior project.
5. It took me 3 years to recover from my sleeping disorder, and even now, 4 years after the fact I find myself up late at night surfing the web...
6. I started college as a Biomedical Engineering major in the Pratt school of engineering at Duke University, with an invitation to NASA upon graduation...somehow over the course of 4 years I turned out to be a Japanese major. They don't seem to be hiring many Japanese majors at NASA these days.
7. I went to the Olympic games when I was 13 years old, and am to this day the youngest athlete to ever compete on the US Olympic Track and Field team.
8. I met my husband via ESPN/Eurosport, when we were 14 & 15 years old. After about 7 years we said, we might as well, and got married
9. I've written 3 fantasy novels and half of my autobiography at 22. I think I need to slow down, even though I never try to publish anything.
10. I have owned an AKC dog since the age of 4. Cocker Spaniels until age 16 and Yorkies from then on.
