I have tried to stop and not proceed, and generally he will come back and stand by me to only to get ahead again almost immediately upon restarting. I guess persistance is the thing. The only other problem I have is all the dogs we pass. He just goes crazy and gets all the other dogs excited. I am a big watcher of the Dog Whisperer and love those techniques. However he doesn't seem to have that many smaller dogs / yorkies on there and what I have tried works somewhat, but he is a very determined boy once he has something in his mind. I guess I just have a lot to learn. I am trying to be "calm and assertive"!!
