I have no doubt in my mind that you love your furbaby, but it isn't natural for these little babies to be so small.
The majority of these small babies have lots of health problems, and perhaps these can be treated, but is it really responsible to ignore the fact that they
might have to suffer, so that some one can have a "Tiny".
"she came from a Hobby show breeder that just happened to get a tiny in one of her litters..so she sold her to me as a pet...and a much loved and cherished one she is too!"
I truly don't mean to offend anyone, I just think it's our duty to educate ourselves, if we are going to be responsible Pets for our little masters. |
No offence taken...I think i'm just getting a little tired of the 'Tinies' getting so much criticism...and most YT'ers complain that its the larger yorkies that usually get a hard time! I think the little ones are just as much in the firing line! We all love our babies no matter what size and shape they are!
I personally don't like the word 'Runt' as it is usually (in my personal experience) used in a derogatory way...like 'Rodent' or 'Rat' which I have heard far too many times when out with my baby...I now put it down to pure jealousy and ignorance...I have a very pretty and gorgeous little girl (not biased much!) that attracts attention everywhere we go...and perhaps some people don't like that?

...and no, i'm not an attention seeker..im actually a very shy and retiring girl that likes to avoid being in the spotlight..so sometimes the attention can be uncomfortable!
And as for health problems...not all the little ones are riddled with them..some of the larger yorkies have their fair share of problems too. Just because my Pixie is a little one she is not 'suffering' because of it, she's a very happy and bouncy little girl and 100% 'natural'!..I agree, and we all know, that there ARE irresponsible breeders out there that ARE breeding specifically for tinies..and that IS wrong, because they are breeding tiny females

with no care for their health and well being..only caring to line their own pocket

...but not ALL breeders do this..ocassionally the show breeder will get a smaller baby that will not be used for showing or breeding..and that baby will need a loving forever home like the others..I personally like the smaller yorkies..I see nothing wrong with that..I HAD educated myself beforehand..and I knew that a reputable, experienced and responsible breeder was the way to go and I would have waited as long as it took to find the right one and not rush off to the nearest 'Teacup' breeder to get one...I joined YT when I had an elderly 14 year old yorkie girl, this place supported me in my grief and then educated me in my search for that next special baby.
Kindest Regards as always, Kerry & Pixie.
