Well, I'm not an expert, but professional dog teeth cleaners use Listerine, and I doubt they are killing their clients.

I just checked my Listerine bottle, and neither flouride nor xylitol are listed.

I'm not arguing you should make your dog gargle with it, but it's my belief that a diluted solution is fine, and possibly more effective.
