For the longest time, I thought "neutering" was like a vasectomy, not castration. I grew up with pets all my life and work with dogs on a weekly basis. I felt so silly when I finally put it together.

That being said, neutering is really the way to go if you don't plan to breed your dog. They don't need their balls, and they are much easier to get along with. I'm sure other posters will be along to give more details on the benefits of neutering and the cons of not doing so.

And no, I've never heard of a doggy ho.
