Barky McBarkface... ... is what my boyfriend calls Lola because she barks INCESSANTLY when she wants something.
She barks when we're eating. She barks when she wants to play. She barks when someone's in the bathroom and she can't get in. She barks in her car seat. She barks when I put her in her crate. She's recently started to bark when she's being carried in her bag. And when I say incessantly, I mean for 20 or 30 minutes or more.
I have tried so hard to follow all the "rules" about teaching puppies not to bark... I completely ignore her and never coddle her or give her what she wants (whether it's getting out of her crate or food, etc.) while she's barking. But she is 5 months old and STILL does this consistently. It's getting to the point where I can't really take her anywhere because she barks like crazy when she doesn't get exactly what she wants at the moment she wants it. As in, it's getting worse and not better. I've tried putting her in another room and closing the door when she barks for food, but she just cries and barks for at least a half an hour before she calms down a little.
Has anyone had this problem or something similar? Any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated! |
