I am lactose intolerant. I drink Lactaid milk and take Lactaid tablets before I eat dairy. I notice as I get older I can tolerate harder cheeses in moderation, but can't do cottage cheese. I often substitute soy or rice milk for regular milk, especially in lattes. Yogurt is no problem for me. I tend to buy frozen yogurt instead of ice cream or take the Lactaid tablets before. Put some Lactaid tablets in your purse and pop them just before meal time. Enjoy.
