I actually have only given my 11 year old shih tzu 3 rabi shots in her life(all 1 year ones). They never leave my home and are strictly inside, so, no way would they ever be around a rabid animal. The only thing is if I had one of them out and about and it was known they didn't have their rabi shots, I could get fined. I just think vets are over vaccinating our pets. |
I totally agree. Toy dogs are a bit different. I've seen first hand, wee ones die, if given too young or too old. The instructions I send home with my new families state, no rabies until 7 months of age. And no Corona or Leptos. My vet follows Dr Dodd's vaccination protocal, which is being taught at Vetinary Schools.
I administer benadryl prior to any vaccination.
