This has been a very sad thread, but isn't it better to know what's really going on? Knowledge shouldn't make you give up. Now we all know we have to be smarter and more careful about who our donation are really going to.
I don't think this thread gives rescues a bad name. I think the reprehensible actions of some rescues gives rescues a bad name. Personally I am GREATFUL that people had the courage to come forward and tell us what is going on. Knowledge is power. |
Different auctions the prices can be different. At the auction OKYR got the Biewers from, chihuahuas were selling for .01 - yes that's right a PENNY

! That was another auction this SW Kennel auction held. I've seen them give away unsold dogs at the auction here.
The first auction I went to back in spring of 08 yorkies were selling for $75-100. But because of the
glutted market (partially created by rescues) and the economy, over the summer the price began to drop. And, the last auction I went to many sold for $50 and under. The only yorkies that sold for more were the tiny females and I did see one sell for $100.
