JenCar98, is $50 really the average price for a dog at an auction? I ask because that seems pretty low, so if that's what the seller expects on average, he doesn't need much to make a profit. This just underlines that the argument "we're not giving millers much money" does not hold water.

This has been a very sad thread, but isn't it better to know what's really going on? Knowledge shouldn't make you give up. Now we all know we have to be smarter and more careful about who our donation are really going to.

I don't think this thread gives rescues a bad name. I think the reprehensible actions of some rescues gives rescues a bad name. Personally I am GREATFUL that people had the courage to come forward and tell us what is going on. Knowledge is power.
