Default Possible kidney problems in my 10 wk old dorky.

I've had Doolittle (3/4 Yorkie 1/4 Dachsund) 3 weeks. Except for a bout of earmites, everything was great until the past weekend. He first threw up Saturday night but was acting and eating fine. Over the next 2 days, he quit eating on his own but was still drinking. I was giving him nutrical and force feeding him A/D as the vet prescribed. Last night he quit drinking. He didn't even mind being put in his crate. I took him to the vet this morning and insisted they begin testing. His BUN was >130 (normal is 29) and his creatinine was elevated to 1.6 (normal 1.2.) An xray showed he might have an enlarged kidney but since he is so small (1.5 lbs) it wasn't definitive. They have him on an IV and were going to try an ultrasound to see if they could get a better view of his kidneys.

Does this sound hopeless?
