I wanted to share some information with you regarding my inquiry about this fence. I have been doing alot of thinking with this and I guess my 15 yo son gave me my decision. He (obviously against this fence) asked me what I thought of the long term effects of having all that electricity around us all the time and what it would do to the dogs long term. This for me had me decide not to use this type of fence.
I also wanted to share with you the experience my daughter and I had this morning. On our way to taking her to school, we seen a dog lying on the side of a road next to a garbage can. After driving by her several times trying to decide if she was the owner of the garbage cans dog or not, we decided to stop. To make a long story short, we got her into our car and drove to the local animal shelter. At the shelter the lady who helped us told us that a german shepherd that was reported missing was the result of him seeing a herd of deer and running through his invisible fence to chase them. It has been 2 weeks and no sign of him. They came to the shelter to adopt another shep and put up a "real" fence as the lady put it.
On a happy ending, we told the lady at the shelter that if no one came to adopt this dog we found, we would take her. (like I need another dog)
