When you took them to a specific place, did you watch them the entire time, were they on a leash?

Was it a grassy area or concrete or something else?

I would think that if their "potty" area that you've taken them to is the same material as where they run they probably just don't differentiate between these places.

You could maybe fence in an area that's a potty place only and train them to go only to that area it could help.

As for the outside furniture, I have no idea.
You could be out there with them and if you see them trying to go on it, correct them. Or block off the furniture if possible.
