Actually, I think you are right about that! They should have had a kid tester before they marketed it............they would have found out how important those straps are!!!! I know the hubby and I were playing tennis and he whacked his hand on the wall and busted his knuckles up......left blood on my wall too!!!! Just goes to show you how much energy can be put into these games and power to send one through the TV, window, etc.
I must admit though that I don't wear it when I play Mario kart as it is harder to flip when you make jumps to get the power surge.
