PS - I'm so very sorry to hear that you lost a baby. Vets very rarely share this info and I don't know why??? There's a ton of info out there that's not shared with you unless you ask about it. If you don't ask, they don't tell. Of course that goes for human doctor's too - my family learned that the hard way when mom was sick with cancer. She didn't make it, but if we had known some of the things to ask, maybe she would have.  Just goes to show you that knowledge is power & you are your own (and your pets) biggest advocate! Thank you for your kind thoughts. Our Roxy did have pre-op blood work done. She was already weakened by a liver shunt and I think that played into it. She came through the surgery ok, but had a seizure coming out of the anesthetic and never recovered. We miss her dearly and now we see that Roxy's breeder has 2 new pups available...I'm just waiting for someone to ask about this breeder so I can share my experiance.
