bad news at my university..
Hammond police say they have arrested a drunken driver Friday morning who they believe is responsible for the death of two Southeastern Louisiana University students and a former student.
Derek L. Quebedeaux, 21, was taken into custody by Hammond police after he apparently ran off Nashville Street around 2 a.m. after leaving The Buzz, a nearby lounge, striking five victims and leaving the scene.
Quebedeaux continued driving to his residence at 1405 Nashville St. after hitting the victims, police said.
Officers responding to the scene found five people injured, three of whom had fatal injuries.
The following are listed with fatal injuries:
Maxime Profit, 23, Vaires-sur-Marne, France.
Thurman Lowe, 24, Kenner.
Beth Boudreaux, 19, Husser.
Listed in critical condition is Nadine Stewart of England.
Maja Bradonjic is from Belgrade, Serbia, and she is listed as having minor injuries.
it turns out, the drunk driver was one of the victums roommates.. he lives right down the road from the bar and for some reason, still chose to drive. (i used to live on that street)
its ironic that i met Beth in english class last thursday
