You can give it a try and see if Gadget doesn't seem to bothered by it. I've so often seen that Yorkie's and other dogs really enjoy being in their kennels, it gives them sense of security and a place to call their own.

Those larger play pens for animals work great. Other members here on YT have them and really enjoy using them.

I don't agree with any dog being left in a small kennel for long periods of time, they must come out for affection and potty breaks. But short periods are usually never a problem.

For the times when you are away for great lengths of time the larger play pen might be awesome for you.

Hope it all works out for both you and Gadget.
