I googled it and found it myself...
It's a Pre-Anesthetic Blood Test or Pre-Op Blood Profile. The test is to check for an adequate blood cell count and also checks for signs of possible problems in the kidneys and liver that may not be evident in a physical examination. I think this test is imperative because it identifies life threatening complications and could predict whether the surgery should be cancelled or whether it's safe to proceed. I will always get this test regardless of cost.
Also, 2 anesthesias that you should check to see if your vet uses are Isoflorane or Sevoflorane... these are the safest anesthesias for these little guys. |
