If the vomiting continues, I'd get him to the vet today. If he has stopped and doesn't vomit again, I'd make sure he's drinking water and give him some nutrical every few hours to give his tummy a rest. If he gets lethargic or shows other signs of being sick or hypoglycemic, get him to the vet. If he seems perfectly fine later today, I'd even offer him food and see how it goes.

It could just be a complete fluke. The gas makes me think he has tummy upset, but it could be caused by any number of things, and it could easily clear up on its own. Vomiting is not uncommon.

I also have a 5 month old, and we have been through far too many vomiting episodes! The first time it was a random virus, and she had to be hospitalized for fluids. Most recently, she swallowed a pebble and it got stuck in her stomach. So please don't take any chances if he continues to vomit, won't drink, or refuses nutrical or otherwise just seems "off."
