When Bailey was smaller and during her potty training stages- I kept her in an expen during the day - while we were at work. No rules in the expen - so she peed all over and chewed her pee pads and yes, I believe she must have rolled in it because she smelled!!!

I just cleaned up the area daily and gave her baths (a little more often than once a week) - she soon outgrew it.

I don't know if this is common - but that was our experience. Good luck!
