I am one of those bird-feeders. I do it because a majority of our birds are now on the endangered list because of our declining wild lands.I love my birds and don't want to see them disappear. But I also have two little yorkies. So when we go out back I have a small 15 by 15 area sectioned off with an x-pen where they and I run around . That way there is no way a hawk would be able to snatch them with me right there with them. I never let them go anywhere without me close by.
