The limping was also most likely from rabies but because he was giving so many things at once, I could've been anything. I would suggest that all shots be given separately from now on...not parvo and rabies in the same day. I'd wait 2 weeks in between rabies and DHPP.

If the limping was a big problem for him, he may need to be premedicated next time. If it happens again, you could call your vet and ask for pain meds.

Please call the vet if the lump gets worse or doesn't start looking better in a few days just to be sure.


Rabies should always be given separately from the other vaccines and you should always wait at least two weeks after vaccines to give heartworm preventative. You are lucky he didn't have a more serious reaction.
