Molly was 2 years old when i adopted her and she was very nervous of having her hair combed. The result was that it got very matted, so i cut it all off and then kept it short. She has been with me for 18 months now and loves having her hair combed and brushed,it stays matt free so we are letting it grow. I would advise keeping it short until grooming becomes relaxing and fun, then you have the option to let it grow more.
