There really is some ground for thinking that EVO might be too much protein-- I don't think the vet should be dismissed off hand for suggesting it. I had one pet who was apparently healthy. I had him on EVO for several months, had bloodwork done and his renal values were very high. I switched him to a diet with a more moderate protein level and his bloodwork returned to normal.

I don't care much for Science Diet either, but I do think that we should be very careful with the ultra-high protein diets out there, and not jump on the bandwagon of supporting them just because a website says that they are the best.

I'm feeding grain-free diets with more moderate protein levels to my pets now with pretty nice results.
