To the OP.
Do what is best for you. No one lives your life except you. You sound
like a wonderful mother to these two little girls and I am sure if you have
to give them up your heart will be broken but a rescue is the place to
go, if needed. Hopefully the girls can stay together as well, this certainly
would make it easier on you and them.
I am sorry about the change in your life. You never know when your will
be hit with a curve ball. That's life, sometimes it's good and sometimes
it stinks.

I have read, more times than I cared to, people here getting rid of
beloved pet's for far less reasons with only support from other's.
Maybe it depends on who's getting rid of a pet at the time.
