She must have extremely low self-esteem to be beaten like that, and take the man back (if, that is indeed what she has done). Until she works on her self-worth, she is perfectly set-up for this to continue. Really sad. If I was her family/friend, I'd be terrified for her safety and her life if she stays with him.
