If the vet told you this, please find a new one.
At the very least, they should know what MVD is!
Dogs with liver shunts should NOT be bred. It is hereditary.
Dogs with MVD likewise should not be bred and not all Yorkies have it.
You cannot diagnose it without a liver biopsy but if all other tests are normal except the bile acids, some vets just say it is MVD in Yorkies because it is so common. Those numbers for the male do indicate MVD but they cannot possibly say that for sure. The female could have MVD, a shunt or something altogether different.
