I've heard this too. And it seems to follow...I got both my CATS when they were VERY young (one 4 wks, and the other 6 wks--they were being taken from their mother anyway, so it was either me or someone else or the dangers of living outdoors on a farm), and both of them nursed just like that. It's called "wooling" because way back when they used wool blankets, and tiny cats/dogs would knead them and suck on them. Sometimes, babies just can't stay with their mothers as long as they should, for whatever reason, and since they're so young, they emulate nursing as a comfort mechanism (just instinct I think).
