Yeah, seeing that list is just overwhelming, as I'm sure it is for the USDA too. This is probably a whole other can of worms, but honestly, I've never been sure that the USDA is the right entity to be the watchdog for Mills and breeding anyway. I mean, if you read The Omnivore's Dilemma or other things related to some of what the USDA does - you really see a conflict of interest there. Really, we need a "force" whose sole purpose is to police animal cruelty - and not something like the USDA whose interests are so entrenched in agriculture, which is BIG business and profit driven. That may be unrealistic for me to wish for, but it's what I think we need if we ever really want an end to the cruel conditions.
Like you said, I also don't think everyone who is a "commercial" breeder can be tossed in w/ Millers.
