Sounds like she may be losing/ or has lost her mucous plug. I am not an expert by any means though so wait for an experienced person to comment on this one..... Is she having any other pre-labor type signs? I did raise goats and she began to have a thick stringy mucous before she actually went into labor. I am sure somone will have better, dog oriented advise for you soon.
