First off there are no professional groomers unless they have been in business for many years. You need no training or license to work for a pet grooming shop.
Don't let cutting your baby keep you from grooming. Use a clipper on the ears. Never a scissor. The only time I use scissors is to cut around the paw at the nail. First rinse the cut out with peroxide and then put neosporin on it.
I'm sure you will be forgiven.
