I would try the cloth reusable pads from personallypaws.com. Also, take the dog on a good 20-30 minute walk before you leave to tire her/him out. I would also try getting a Kong toy, stuffing it with chicken or cheese, put it in the freezer overnight or a few hours, and right before you leave give her/him the toy and it will keep the dog busy for a little while anyway. If that doesn't work you might have to crate train. They learn to love their crates. You'd still have to walk the dog first and give the kong toy in the crate.
