First off, I don't really know what I'm doing either, but Nikko gets cool/room temp tap water, the same stuff we drink. I usually rinse out his water cup and refill it to the top about 2-3 times per day - he tends to drink more if the cup is more full (weird, I know, but true). And I know getting lots of water is important for their internal organs' health, especially if they eat dry food.
I'd like to know if anyone else knows more about the ice water when it's hot out issue... It's going to be SMOKIN hot here this summer, and I'd always planned on adding ice cubes to Nikko's water once it started to get too warm, and I still plan on doing that unless I hear some really good info the other way.
