No there isn't any truth in that statement. You need to feed puppy...a gruel. You can process kibble with a food processer so it's very fine. Mix that with a high quality canned puppy food and add warm water. You want it very soupy. Instead of water you can substitute puppy milk replacer...that's available at pet stores. Warm it all a bit. Do not feed it to her cold.
Make sure she is eating frequent meals...every 4 hours or so. Keep her warm and do not let her get chilled.
If she has been given an vaccinations...it's too early for them to be effective. She still has immunity from her mother and will need the vaccine done again.
