i started charlie out in the crate..i felt bad at first but then I got use to it. I rather he is safe than to hurt himself. It was also a quicker way to potty train him. He was 80% potty train in almost 2 weeks. He still goes in his crate when I am not home. It is big enough for him to move around and play with his toys. One time, i had to go out of town for 13 hrs. I came back and he was fine. He bark and pee once in his crate..I can't believe he held his poop until i got home and took him out. Of course he got rewarded for being good and got to stay longer out longer that night. He sleeps in his crate too.
