You know, it's funny that I am reading this. I just had some reviews on my recents pics of Sophie. And someone remarked "I love a full Yorkie". And I'm thinking to myself...."what is a 'full' Yorkie". And I wasn't sure if I should be offended. (this is my first Yorkie). Sophie is 6 months old on Sunday and weighs between 5.5 - 6 lbs. I always thought the normal size for a Yorkie is 5-7 lbs. So I figure she's doing just fine. And just over the weekend an acquaintance saw her for the first time and said "oh, I thought she'd be smaller". She is 5.5 lbs. for goodness sake. How much "smaller" is she supposed to be? My Vet mentioned that under 3 lbs. brings along many health and dental problems. I'm glad my Sophie is "stocky". I don't fret as much if she wrestles the cats or jumps off the sofa (which scared me to death the first time). She's a stocky sort, I guess. The guidelines I've read say as long as you can feel their ribs and back bone (not see them) then thay are within their weight. This is what I feel when I rub my hands down the sides of my Sophie. I think she is just right. I think they are ALL precious in their own, individual ways!
