Mine does this too, she had stopped for some time when we changed her food. But then again when we changed it she started again and then I started college. I think she does it out of boredom when we are away all day long. She won't do it when we are at home.
It's tough on a yorkie to be 10 hours a day on its own. It's only 3 days a week now, but stil, she gets bored.
This may be the problem, if you have relatives, who would watch her during the day when you are away, it would probably help. When I am at home with her she never does it, just when we are out all day.
I am also trying to break the habit in her, but it's hard.
