My addiction started in high school in German class - well, really German Club - we used to sell the ones really made in Germany for fundraisers for the club. I used to bring home a case of small bags - my dad was my next to best customer -- because I was my very best customer!! - and they are really pronounced - Gummi (gooomee)

Now I have to stay out of the candy isle at Target - because they sell them in I think a 6 lb bag - I can have those gone in no time. I haven't bought any for a few weeks (good for me, good or me - keep repeating that )
