Well, I think the OP has some good points. This answered a question for me, actually. I have always heard that dogs are omnivores, but I didn't understand how that could be if wolves are carnivores. It makes a lot of sense that wolves would get partially digested vegetable matter from their prey's guts.

I know people get very passionate about dog food on this forum. I personally think there's still a lot we don't know. A diet that is high in protein is hard on the kidneys, so I have trouble with the idea that dogs should not eat grains.
