I have two yorkies who are 4 months apart, females. I think the best way to judge temperment is to observe the puppies in their home environment. I even ask if I could take the female I chose outside to see if she would follow me, be playful, etc. This method helped me to pick the personality I was looking for and my girls never changed from that first day. I'm not a breeder but hope this helps.
