  Have they both been neutered, I've read that that helps.  I know that you treat the dog that has been in the house the longest as the Alpha, and do things like placing his food bowl down first.  Most trainers will suggest that you make both dogs sit and stay before placing the bowl down.  It takes some time to get them use to each other, and it sounds like Dash is marking his territory.  Some people say that dogs do better if they meet the first time in a park or neutral area, but I guess it's too late for that.  I guess I would be fearful if there is a large difference in size, but from what I've read, dogs have a way of working things out.
