I totally agree that giving too many protein or grain sources makes an elimination diet for allergies very difficult. I think the regular Innova only contains chicken and turkey though and that shouldn't hurt a thing. The dog foods that some vets like often list "meat meal" as an ingredient. This could be beef, pork, mutton or goat or a mixture of them. The same goes for "poultry". You really don't know the source... So while I think those who like variety need to be careful about how many protein and grain sources they are feeding, I would not avoid Innova for this reason...
I can't remember if Innova contains fish. If it does, some vets may want the owner to save if for a novel protein source and that is understandable.
